Stabilized Turrets

Mechatronics Solutions specializes in designing and manufacturing of servo-driven multi-axis systems dedicated to civil and military applications.Radar pedestals are designed and made of rigid frame combined with high stiffness mechanism to keep at best the pointing accuracy.Their easy flexibility and maintainability allow them to be adapted to various applications and to integrate specific devices. They are designed to outdoor operating (temperature -20°C up to 50°C) The positioner frames are made of aluminium or steel according to models. They undergo marine quality standard anticorrosion treatment.Antenna control units (ACU) allow radar pedestals having long life expectancy thanks to their overload protection function and incorrect manipulation filtering.

PNA-series stabilized platform

Description

Platform dedicated to horizontal stabilization of embedded equipment

It takes advantages of the SNA full experience both in terms of stabilization, ground and marine operating conditions, performance and reliability.

An original mechanism allows a continuous stabilization of the embedded equipment within ± 20° displacement without dead point or singular position. Associated with inertial sensors and an electronic control unit, this system provides a high accuracy solution and low cost.

  • As far as electronics is concerned, the control system and the inertial sensor are miniaturized and integrated inside the platform, removing any external control component. The platform is supplied with AC 115V or 230V.An Ethernet interface connects the platform and its environment.
  • Two sizes of the platform are provided: PNA 200 EE and PNA 300 EE corresponding to 55Kg and 200Kg embedded loads.
  • From these requirements, the expected product is :
    • Very easy to be installed
    • Completely reliable
    • Light
    • Low cost

SNA-series antenna stabilizer

Description

  • An original mechanism (Mechatronids Solutions patent) allows antenna continuous pointing within a 220) sphere without dead point or singular position. Associated with inertial sensors and an electronic unit control, this system provides a high accuracy and low cost equipment to meet the antenna stabilization requirements on any type of boat
  • Two sizes of stabilizer are provided: 1500 and 2500 corresponding to the antenna indicative diameters which are 1.5 and 2 .5 m. The dynamic torque available on the 2 axes determines the stabilizer size. It determines the antenna weight on one hand, the distance of its centre of gravity to the axis on another hand, knowing that the antenna supporting arm is adjusted to the antenna diameter in relation with the displacement
  • The drive chain design makes it that neither slip-ring nor RF rotary joint is required. The antenna connection is carried out directly by means of coaxial cable or a flexible guide. The transmitter in relation with the embedded load assessment can be lodged at the small available room at the antenna rear part
  • The stabilizer is supported by a shock absorber according to 3 axes which displacements are limited, taking into account the displacement volume available inside the radome
  • All the mechanical parts are made of AS7G aluminium foundry. They receive a AS7G thermal treatment afterwards. The parts are machined by digital control. They are protected by bichromate anodizing. Not only the components are selected to meet marine environment conditions but they have high accuracy as well :
    • high energy magnet servomotor
    • robotic type life-lubrificated reducer cartridges
    • sealed angular sensors
    • sealed connectors
  • For each turret, we supply our control units designed and tailored for each application according to each positioner dimension (Electric power)
  • Real time control carried out by ACC electronic control unit
  • Control unit associated with :
    • GPS receiver
    • 3 axis inertial sensor block
  • Connection to the heading reference system specific to the boat
  • To operate, the antenna unit control- ACU- can use a marker beacon receiver to optimize the pointing and/or ephemeris with NASA Two lines and INTELSAT formats which can be downloaded on the Web.
  • 3 operating modes :
    • Local manual mode : use of a 2 axis mini arm controller
    • Remote manual mode : use of operating man machine interface through a PC
    • Automatic mode :
      • the satellite coordinates are provided to the ACU
      • with or without ephemeris
      • with or without beacon
  • Management of securities, emergency stop line, movement limitation
  • Management of mask zones
  • Management of linear polarization (Ku band)
